i just woke up with the most blinding, numbing, horribly painful leg cramp i've ever had. all i could yell was 'FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUUUUUCK' until it went away. that sucked. it must of been from all the standing i did yesterday.
i woke up real early yesterday and drove to toys r us to get my harry potter book. yes, i reserved it at toys r us, because i got a free poster. and i'm kinda glad i did...because there was no one there....i don't think anyone knew that toys r us sold books. neither did i. i went home, and read harry potter and comics for the rest of the afternoon. ang got off work early. she wanted hibatchi...who was i to say no to that. so we went to the japanese steak house, and had a kick ass dinner. from there, we left for cleveland. we got the the 'beachland ballroom' without getting lost. it was in cleveland, but it seemed to be in the middle of no where. it was just a small, shitty club...super old...super crappy. we got there and waited in line to get in. angela was commenting on how weird their fans were. and yes, they were weird. since TMBG have been around since the early eighties....they have a large variety of fans. there were young kids to senior citizens...all freaks and geeks. it was sweet. i was expecting the opening band, 'corn mo' to be horrible. but infact, it was the complete opposite. one man, one accordian and guitar, and two cymbals. if meatloaf and weird all had sex and had a child, it would be corn mo. this dude was amazing....all i could do was stand there with my mouth open. it was like doing a bunch of drugs without doing the drugs. crazy. another 45 minutes go by, and then THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS take the stage.
they start out with the first song, and it rocks. the same song which i saw them play on conan last week, found out they had a new album, and then found out they were playing in cleveland. sweet. but after the first song....they all just walked off stage and stopped playing. wtf? it's TMBG....maybe they're just being weird. but no...they blew a fuse....and all the crap on the stage didn't work. after about 20 minutes of just standing around they came out, and played a couple of accoustic songs....which was so cool. when do u get a chance to see a special show like this? it was worth standing around, waiting for them to fix crap. after a while the power came back on, they found a fuse, and the started playing again at like 11:30. by then ang and i were ready to go....but we had to stay. it was such a great show. my first time seeing TMBG...but it definatly won't be my last. they rocked till about 1 am, and then we walked out after their 2nd enchore. i talked to corn mo and got his cd. he gave angela and i buttons. we got home around 2:30 am and i dropped angela off. about 2 seconds away from my house at the 4-way stop on norwood i get PULLED OVER. the cop comes up and asks me for my license. i give it to him. he's like 'oh you're alan myers's kid aren't you?' i'm like 'um, yes.' he's like 'well you pretty much ran that stop sign, but i'm just looking for dui's tonight, and you're obviously not intoxicated. have a good night.' WTF. I FUCKING HATE NORWALK.
and that was it. i woke up with a horrible leg cramp for standing all day. but it was worth it. thanks, THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS.
later internet.
