the squid and the whale

today i tried to burn 'the squid and the whale' but it wouldnt copy....so i just gave in and watched it. it was really good. it's a coming-of-age story about a teenager whose writer-parents are in the process of getting divorced. the film gives off a squirmingly uncomfortable/yet laugh out loud funny vibe @ the same time. good performances by all. laura linney, jeff daniels, jesse eisenberg, and owen kline. bottom line-- indie films set in the 1980s are always good. every once and a while it's good to watch a movie that makes you think. it's worth watching.
