yesterday was one of the most fun days i've had in a long time. angela came over after she got off work at 11. will got here a little after 12:30. he brought ipoh for lunch. what is ipoh? only the bestest chinese food from toledo. i missed it so much. we ate. angela took a nap for an hour, while will and i played the wii. we printed out directions, and all of us got ready to go to the concert. we picked up erin in milan. we went to fill up gas, and we were on our way...and we got on the turnpike to head to detroit. the trip up went pretty smoothly, we got there without getting lost. we were there like a couple of hours early, so we decided to drive around looking for somewhere to eat. i didn't want to drive to far away from the concert, because i was afraid i wouldn't be able to find our way back. so we're driving around these sketchy neighborhoods, not seeing anything at all. finally we drive passed this place called 'carl's.' we're like 'ok...it looks like a bar, let's just go eat barfood.' turns out that this restaurant is really classy, everyone there is wearing collard shirts with jackets, and here walk in ang, erin, will and i wearing hoodies and tshirts. the waiter walks up to us, looking disgusted with from our presence. he sits us all the way in the back corner, by the restrooms. it was histerical. everyone is like high class, old, and prissy looking. they're looking at us like we're lepers or something. it was amusing. the waiter was entirely snide, and a complete ass. everything on the menu was incredibly overpriced, the highest meal was like 70 dollars. we ordered 8 dollar hamburgers with water. ang ordered a blt. these were the cheapest things on the menu. the whole time we were eating the waiter is like hovering over us, never taking his eyes off of us, probably thinking we're going to steal the silverwear or something. it was ridiculous. we ate, and got the hell out of there. i will never go to HOT CARL'S again. it sucked. but yet it was enjoyable. after that we headed to the concert. we wanted to find a sort of well lit parking lot, so we wouldn't get my car broken into. we ended up paying 20 dollars for parking. that's f-ing crazy. we get there, and stand in line for tshirts. because, we need D tshirts. after that we go to find our seats. the place was pretty big, and rustic looking. it was neat. we had balcony seats, and they were really good, surprisingly. ang and i went to get a drink before the show started. and finally, after all that...TENACIOUS D came on the stage. it was such a kick ass show. waaaaaay better than the first time i saw them opening for the weez. at first the stage was set up to look like kyle's apartment from the movie. it was sweet. then in the middle of the show they 'went to hell' and the stage was decked out to look like hell. it was cool. they rocked for over 2 hours. it was so great. they played pretty much every song they've done. even lots of songs from the new album/movie: pick of destiny. it wasn't just jb/kg on the stage this time. when they 'went to hell' they met the antichrist, col. sanders, and charlie chaplin...who then joined their band. antichrist was on electric guitar, charlie played bass, and the col. was on drums. it was awesome. they played every song i was hoping for. i was serenading angela the entire time. i love me some jack black. he is such a performer. i love him. the show was ROCKING. maybe one the best 'stadium shows' i've ever seen. i wish there was a pit, so i could get up front to jack. so sweet. after the concert it took us forever to get on the turnpike, due to the traffic. they wanted to get alcohol so we stopped at a kroger in toledo. by this time i was so tired, i was acting, and talking like a total idiot...mocking random college students in kroger. i think ang and erin enjoyed that. so we bought alcohol, but after we got back home, it was like 2-2:30 am, and no one wanted to drink. everyone just bailed. such a wicked awesome night. so much fun. a great end to my thanksgiving break. the. greatest. band. in. the. world.
later.
