thursday is the new friday.

what's up?? you know i had another great day yesterday. let me explain. in the morning i woke up, dreaming dreams of LOST cuz i'm a nerd. studied. went to class. did pretty decent on my first exam. after class was done, i took a leisurely drive up to fremont... for my weekly stack of comics. i decided to stop @ 'level up' in bellevue, this little video game shop that i've notice the last few times while driving through to fremont. it was pretty neat. for one, you don't really get alot of places where you can get cheap, oldschool games around here. i looked around for about a half an hour, had some 'geek talk' about the wii vs. the ps3, and continued onto fremont. got my weekly stack of FRESH INK, a few goodies were left in my box that i've been waiting a long time to get ordered for me. sin city vol.1. a few others. left rupp's. filled up my gas. and went back for norwalk. and you're gonna laugh when you read this part. i put my bag of comics on the passenger seat. right when i get into monroeville, this lady driving in front of me, decides to all of a sudden BRAKE CHECK at a moment's notice. of course this means i have to slam on my breaks as well. at this time half my freaking comics fly out of my bag, and onto the floor. at which point, I FREAK OUT. pull over to the side of the road, to put them back in the bag. i mean LOTS OF THEM WEREN'T EVEN BAGGED AND BOARDED!!!! i mean COOOOOOOOME ON!!!! so after i had a little hissy fit, yelled a bunch of obscenities, safely put my comics back in the bag, i drove on home. sat around. read some comics. at dinner. waited for angela to get off work. after work we talked on the phone for a little bit, and she came over. i had a blast, as i usually do when we hang out. she is such a cool, cool girl. i mean there are not many people that are down for hanging out all night, playing video games. let's see what did we play.... a little donkey konga, guitar hero which she didn't really like i don't think, (it's ok i forgive her) got alittle oldschool after that. we played some 'beavis and butthead' and 'joe and mac' on snes. then what ummmmm we did some diddy kong racing on n64. then we played mario party cuz she's never played any of those. i showed her what 'the office' was all about. i think she liked it. by the way (last night's episode in which dwight was on a secret mission to overthrow michael was like one of the fuuuuuuniest episodes ive seen in a long time. this season's gonna be great. fingers crossed that jim will go back to the scranton branch for pam. but i have faith) haha ok, um...where was i? after that we watched an episode of stella, and just ended up staying up all night, talking, and occasionally making fun of music videos. she didn't go home until like 5:30 am. haha. and i think hanging out with angela made up for the geekfit i had when the comics hit-the-floor. she is such a blast to hang with. a reeally cool girl. AND THAT WAS MY THURSDAY NIGHT/MORNING. what did you do???

here's some time wasters for you. i overdose on pop culture, so you don't have to:

1. the first episode of Mr. T's new "Reali-T" show "I Pity the Fool" ....wow how'd he think of that title....is now available on yahoo tv.

2. was there more to wed's LOST than in the first 5 minutes? i'm sure there was. although the first 5 minutes TOTALLY BLEW MY MIND BROHAM. paul scheer dives deeper.

3. A couple of years ago, it became cool to talk about the 80’s, to reminisce about Saturday morning cartoons and t-shirt clips and Family Ties. But all the while, another decade looked on, the mere middle child, ignored, uncool, unloved: The 90’s. But maybe it’s about time we started paying more attention to this neglected decade. Fark points us to a Glossary of 90s Slang, and while it’s borderline TMI, find some heady nuggets, quit icin’ those grills, get blazed, and take a look. Some of the terms never made their way into our ear canals (”Whatever You Reckon” sounds more like slang from the 1890’s). But after a quick perusal, we can honestly pray that 90’s culture doesn’t get hip until at least 2021, when a metal robot is sent back from the future to save the world from nuclear holocaust, making Hasta La Vista even more ironic/deadly.

4. BORAT, BORAT, BORAT!!! Cracked has compiled a list, complete with YouTube clips, of the best Borat skits ever. Watching them make you even more anxious for that damn Borat movie to come out already. I’ve included my favorite Borat video below, then you can click here to see the other 9. Niiiiice.

5. With George Sr. out of prison and starring in a new sitcom, Tobias & GOB voicing characters for Comedy Central’s Freak Show, and Maeby starring in cheesy TV movies, it’s been difficult watching the cast of Arrested Development move on with their lives. It’s too soon. We’re not ready to see them in other roles. Unless, of course, we’re talking about George Michael, and the role is rock star. Meet The Long Goodbye, (George) Michael Cera’s band. They kind of sound like Weezer meets The Honey Brothers meets early Ben Lee. Throw in one of the top 3 characters on one of the top 5 funniest shows ever, and you have the coolest band of 18-year-old kids ever. Below is the video for the song “My House”. Enjoy. Then head over to their MySpace page and watch their performance of the Weezer song “El Scorcho.” If watching George Michael yell “Goddamn you half Japenese girls!” doesn’t put a smile on your face today, I don’t know what will.
