yet another day of nothing here in chicago. oanh dropped me off at the movies after she dropped the kids off at their friend's house. i decided to go see 'miami vice' since i've seen everything else that's decent. well. first of all... i liked mann's other flick, 'collateral' ... and vice looked pretty much the same visually. shot on digital film. which is a good thing. so clear. i wasn't expecting anything at all walking into this, and it was mediocre. i was pleased... i guess. lots of action... what i expected. even though... i don't even know why he called it 'miami vice.' it coulda just been something else. i mean other than the fact that its about two undercover cops, in miami, no much resembled the show of the 80s. everything is pretty much updated so this story can take place in the present. but...isn't all those wonderful 80s cliches what made miami vice so great? the pastel shirts, the rolled up sleeves, the 5 o clock shadow, the action sequences put to 80s pop music. even though the movie resembled nothing of the original television show, it was still good. so if you want a mediocre movie experience.... go see miami vice. i give it an 'ehhhhhhhhhh' ....which means not great, not horrible. mediocre.

ON ANOTHER NOTE.... ONE MORE FREAKING DAY TILL WIZARD WORLD! I'LL BE ROAMING THE ROSEMONT CONVENTION CENTER TOMORROW...TO BEGIN MY 2ND EXPERIENCE @ THE DORK MECCA. CAN'T WAIT.
